operates out of Research Graphics, a CNMS Core Facility, located in the Biological Sciences building in Room 102.
Our principle mission is to support research faculty in CNMS, but for decades Research Graphics, formerly known as Illustrative Services, has assisted the entire UMBC research community. Our clients range from Engineering to Psychology, from Ancient Studies to Dance. It would be hard to find an academic or administrative office we have not assisted in our 40 years of existence as a university resource.
Aside from providing photo documentation, illustrations and presentation materials for research applications, principally grants and manuscripts, Illustrative Services also assists the university’s effort to promote the institution and provide publicity for a range of programs and initiatives. One aspect to take professional quality portraits of our faculty, staff and students.
We’d now like to open that opportunity more broadly to faculty and staff. A consistent, visually similar collection of portraits conveys cohesion and unity. We use a standard gray background that is slightly graded vertically from light to dark.
We’ll share the initial photos with you and ask you to select which ones may be used. You can then download them for personal use. Illustrative Services will also archive them for use by UMBC staff (for example, your departmental web site or media requests through UMBC communications staff).
